Welcome to Babson!
You made it, and we are glad you are here. Whether you flew in from across the world or drove in from down the road, this week is your soft landing.
Orientation Week is three days and we have some exciting events in store so you can start meeting your classmates.
One ask: say yes to something that makes you a little nervous. That is how a group of strangers turns into a lifelong community.

How the week is built
What we built for your first week
Hi everyone, Rahul here. Every event this week runs on one idea: meeting people should be easy.
First Night in Olin is your introduction to campus and the people who run it. Lawn Day has no agenda, just lawn games and new friends. Skip the Small Talk hands you real conversation prompts so nobody has to ask what you did before Babson.
Saturday Sunrise is three options and you pick one: a run along the Charles, soccer at Magazine Beach, or a coffee crawl through Central Square. Then we set intentions at the Vision Board Picnic, walk the Freedom Trail, and close the week at the Sam Adams Taproom.
Nothing to prepare and no experience needed. Just show up as you are.

A celebration and networking event to welcome our newest students to campus. Campus partners will be there to share how you can get involved outside the classroom, and the GSC will have a booth. Come say hello to us first.

Lawn in front of Knight Auditorium
A drop-in outdoor hangout with cornhole, frisbee, and spikeball. No agenda and no pressure, just a relaxed afternoon on the grass with the people you will spend the next two years with.

Charles River, finishing at Flour Bakery and Cafe
A group run along the river with three pace options, so any speed works. We finish with coffee at Flour, which is the real reason most of us show up.

HARRINGTON FIELD, BABSON COLLEGE
A casual kick-off with no tryouts and no experience needed, for anyone who would rather kick a ball than run. Whatever program you are in, come play.

Central Square and Cambridgeport, ending at Flour Bakery and Cafe
A coffee tasting crawl through Central Square and Cambridgeport. A slow morning, good coffee, and new faces. No running involved.

Designing Your Year: Vision Board Picnic

A picnic with pizza and a guided vision board activity to set your intentions for the year ahead. Bring your goals, we will bring the markers.

Freedom Trail Tour
Sat, Sep 5 · 3:30–4:40 PM
Boston Common to Faneuil Hall
A walking tour through 250-plus years of history, using an augmented reality app called PastPort to bring the city to life as you walk it. A good way to see Boston before class starts.

Sam Adams Taproom, Downtown Boston
We close out the week with an open mixer for incoming students, current students, and alumni. Just show up. Don't forget your ID!

Boston trivia
Your Saturday of Orientation runs through Boston Common, the oldest public park in the country. What was it used for first?
Answer: grazing cattle. Colonists set it aside as common pasture in 1634, and livestock kept showing up for the next two centuries.
